New Understand Arabic & Qur'an Course

Assalaamu Alaykum Students & Friends

Alhamdulillah! More than 50 students have registered for the course thus far & many of them attended the 1st Introduction & Registration Session last Sunday (30 June 2019).

Everybody is excited to start the 1st Module, which was sent to all registered students who provided their email addresses.

       Students can still register to attend the class or to study via the DL GROUP.

There will be 3 periods every Sunday morning at Masjidul Quds, Gatesville.
1.  The 1st period  (09.30-10.00) will deal with Reading and Writing Arabic.
 
      Over the next 4-6 weeks students will learn to read & write at least 7 letters of the Arabic alphabet each week.  They will then read & write 30-50 words each week using the letters covered.  The words they will learn (including the English translation) in the 1st module, appears more than 15 000 times in the Quran.

      After the 6 weeks, this period will be used for Basics & Revision.

2.  During the 2nd & 3rd Periods (10.10-11.00 & 11.10-12.00) the Arabic Language Structure and Understanding of Al-Qur'an will be dealt with.

      In the 1st Module we cover Numbers & Numerals in the Quran, Personal Pronouns & Commonly used nouns (in Qur'an).  The students will learn how to generate dozens of sentences using these.

       The vocabulary covered in Module One appear well over 20 000 times in the Qur'an!

      About 20 Ayaat are then given, so that the students can identify the words covered in the module  - and translate them.

Understand Arabic And the Noble Quran - A New 5-Month Arabic Beginners Course

The Understand Arabic & Al-Quran Course, will start on 30 June 2019 This course will run until Dec 2019.  A follow-up course will be offered next year starting February 2020, In-Sha-Allah.  This course is suitable for Beginners, as well as Intermediate Arabic Students.

So far about 40 students have already registered for this class, which will be offered once a week, on Sunday Mornings (09.30-12.00)  -  in addition to the Distant Learning Students (about 15 thus far).

WHAT DOES THIS COURSE OFFER?
1.  Students must register by sending us their details (full name, WhatsApp no & email address). - Please mention: Register as CS (Class Student);
2.  Students who attend class, will receive a 30-40 min General Revision/ Q&A Session - plus 2 x 50 min sessions covering the different aspects mentioned below;
3.  All notes will be sent to the students in advance on a weekly basis (via email, WhatsApp or via a link);
3.  Students will also receive regular audio / video lessons (at least 5-10 short 15 min lessons per week);
4.  Regular tips and exercises will also be sent weekly;
5.  Additional info for optional further study or reference;
6.  Students can ask questions at any time via the WhatsApp group that will be created;

WHAT WILL YOU LEARN?
1.  60% of the time will be focussed on Understand Al-Quran;
2.  40% of time will focus on Conversational Arabic;
3.  Both of the above will include the Grammatical explanations to enhance understanding;
3.  Remember that The Noble Quran is actually Allah's Conversation with us (human beings).  The study of Al-Quran will therefore enhance the conversational component;
4.  About 50 - 60% of Quran vocabulary will be covered, which appears more than 80% in Al-Quran;
5.  Most of the Basic Grammar will be covered, so that the student will be able to read and understand 1000s of sentences and Ayaat Al-Quran;
6.  The student should be able to read, write and understand everything covered during the course;
7.  The student should be able to generate 1000s of sentences on their own by Dec 2019.

Learn Arabic From Home - In your own time!

We have decided to offer the Understand Arabic & Al-Quran Course, starting on 30 June 2019 to students via on-line/ distant learning (DL). This course will run until Dec 2019.  A follow-up course will be offered next year starting February 2020, In-Sha-Allah.

So far about a dozen students have already registered with this option - as Distant Learning Students in addition to the full time students (about 40 thus far).

Those who opt to study via the DL method will study simultaneously to those who will attend classes.  In this way, the DL students who are able to attend classes (maybe once or twice a month) can do so, by simply sending a whatsApp msg or email before the time (to ensure there's enough space in the class).

New Arabic Class after Ramadhaan

Understand Arabic 2019

Assalaamu Alaykum Students and Friends        السلام عليكم, يا أيها الطلاب والأصدقاء

The New Understand Arabic course has started.  We started last week on Sunday 10 February 2019.  The students who came to register found the first session very interesting and exciting.  A number of students have indicated that they will join the classes from this Sunday (17-02-2019).  They are more than welcome to join us on this exciting journey.  So if anyone else would like to still join, please contact us immediately (see detaills on the poster below). We will revise all the work covered during the first session.  In fact all vocabulary and basic structures will be revised continuously to enable the students to internalize them effectively.

This is a 10 week course, which will cover the basic word and sentence structures the beginner or intermediate student need to understand and hopefully master in order to enable him or her to use the Arabic language effectively.  During this course we aim to cover a few thousand sentences based on common conversational Arabic as well as Quranic Ayaat (verses).  Yes, I know you are now probably wondering how it is possible to cover such a lot in such a short time.  It is very possible!

During the first session we covered 34 words, which include 10 pronouns (5 singular and 5 plural), 12 nouns and 12 adjectives or descriptive nouns.  By using the first 5 (singular) pronouns with the nouns and adjectives (29 of the words) - in simple statements (such as I am big, You are tall, The teacher is absent, أنا كبير، أنت طويلة، المعلم غائب etc), one can effectively already generate more than 100 sentences!  By adding an additional word (from the given vocabulary) - in structures like I am a big boy, You are a tall girl, The clever student is present,  أنا ولد كبير، أنت بنت طويلة، الطالب الشاطر حاضر etc, a further 430 plus sentences can be generated!  The student will therefore have the ability to generate more than 500 sentences after the 2 sessions.  In fact, by adding only 4 (of the 14) extra words (given at the end of the first module - أ، هل، نعم، لا ), it is possible to generate an additional 1500 plus sentences!  This can be done by forming simple Q&A sentences, such as:  Is the boy tall?  Yes, he is tall.  No, he is short.  هل الولد طويل؟  نعم، هو طويل.  لا، هو قصير.

So, by using 33 of the 48 words given in the first module, one can easily generate more than 2000 sentences (after two sessions)! Imagine how many sentences can be generated by using all 48 words!
Then, consider how many sentences can be generated and effectively used if we complete only 5 such modules during the 10 weeks! So, if you are serious about learning, reading, understanding and using the Arabic Language effectively, then come and join us on this exciting journey!

And the best part:  it's only R300 for the entire course!
